Checkout — formerly YPlan, acquired by Time Out — was the platform selling tickets to the events Time Out wrote about. Real traffic, real revenue, and a codebase mid-way between its startup past and its enterprise future.
I maintained and extended the platform through that transition: delivered the product-page rebrand as Time Out folded YPlan into its own identity, and built a new ticket-selector widget — the piece of UI every purchase flows through. Alongside feature work, I led the research and preliminary work for modernising the stack: upgrading the ageing React version and migrating the data layer from Flux to Redux.
This is the case I show for a skill that rarely makes portfolios: changing the wheels while the bus is moving. Rebrands and framework migrations on a revenue-critical system are won by sequencing and care, not heroics.
